The Burke's PeerageWorld Book of Saches published by Halberts Family Heritage which is an incomplete compilation of names from electoral rolls and telephone directories etc. does indicate that the most populous areas for Saches are Essex in the UK and in Germany. The number of Saches in France is given as 3!, so perhaps the name is not French.  A search of the IGI also produced a similar result. All this suggests that perhaps the name Sach was originally Saxon in  origin as it was from this area in northern Germany that the Saxons came from. Clearly some more research is required to clarify this uncertainty.

Because of uncertainties in how to pronounce the name  SACH there are many other variations on the spelling such as Saitch, Saich, Saych, Saysh, Seach, Sachs, and  Sacks.

Pronunciation: SACH,  is pronounced  " Saysh "  as  given in the BBC Book of   Pronunciation.
